2008 Innovations in Homeownership Contest Guidelines
  1. The 2008 Innovations in Homeownership Contest is open only to qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
  2. Entries should not include any attachments. Entries may refer to another website to view other related information or graphic materials.
  3. All submitted materials become property of NeighborWorks® America.
  4. The deadline for entries is April 11, 2008.
  5. NeighborWorks® America reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not fulfill the requirements of the contest. All decisions are final.
Official Rules
  1. To enter, complete the full application on-line at www.nw.org.
  2. All entries must be submitted by midnight, Eastern Daylight Time, on April 11, 2008.
  3. All entries must be submitted by a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and represent work or strategies they are implementing.
  4. NeighborWorks® America is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected submissions.
  5. No submissions can be answered.
  6. By entering, applicants agree that submissions will become the property of NeighborWorks® America. Submissions may be published or used in any and all media, whether now known or thereafter devised, without compensation.
  7. Employees of NeighborWorks® America and their immediate families are not eligible to apply.
  8. NeighborWorks® America reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not fulfill the requirements of the contest. All decisions are final.
  9. Three prizes of $3,500 each will be awarded to winners in the three categories of submission:
    • Innovative partnerships to sustain homeownership
    • Innovative strategies to address REOs in the community
    • Innovative post-purchase strategies for consumers
  10. Runners-up will receive $500 each.
  11. All winners and runners-up will be recognized on NeighborWorks® America's website.
  12. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges based on the following criteria:
    • Impact — strategy increased or improved prior results
    • Innovation — strategy demonstrates creativity and uniqueness
    • Reproducible — strategy can be reproduced and implemented by others
    • Effectiveness — overall effectiveness in achieving/sustaining homeownership
  13. Winners will be selected on or about May 7, 2008 and will be notified by mail or e-mail. Winners will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity/Materials release which must be returned within three (3) days of receipt of notification letter or alternate winners will be selected.
  14. Winners will be officially announced at the NeighborWorks® Training Institute Symposium on May 7, 2008 in Cincinnati, OH and listed on NeighborWorks® America's website thereafter.
  15. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
  16. Void where prohibited by law.
